Í ljósi mikillar ófærðar og áframhaldandi slæmrar veðurspár hefur verið tekin ákvörðun í samráði við umhverfissvið Reykjanesbæjar að loka leikskólum í Innri-Njarðvík og á Ásbrú á morgun, þriðjudaginn 20. desember. Þetta er gert til þess að fækka bílum í umferð þannig að snjómokstur geti gengið greiðlega fyrir sig. Í þessum hverfum eru bílar víða fastir á götum og hamla umferð og snjómokstri. Bílastæði við leikskóla, götur og gangstéttar eru illfærar sem stendur og þá munu ferðir strætisvagna liggja niðri á morgun.

Due to the great inconvenience and the continuing bad weather forecast, a decision has been made in consultation with Reykjanesbær's environmental department to close preschools in Innri-Njarðvík and Ásbrú tomorrow, Tuesday, December 20. This is done in order to reduce the number of cars in traffic so that snow removal can proceed smoothly. In these neighborhoods, cars are often stuck on the streets and hinder traffic and snow removal. Parking lots at kindergartens, streets and sidewalks are hazardous at the moment, and bus trips will be cancelled tomorrow.

Ze względu na duże niedogodności i utrzymującą się złą prognozę pogody, w porozumieniu z wydziałem ochrony środowiska Reykjanesbær podjęto decyzję o zamknięciu przedszkoli w Innri-Njarðvík i Ásbrú jutro, we wtorek, 20 grudnia. Ma to na celu zmniejszenie liczby samochodów w ruchu drogowym, aby odśnieżanie mogło przebiegać bezproblemowo. W tych dzielnicach samochody często stoją na ulicach, utrudniając ruch i odśnieżanie. Poruszanie się po parkingach przy przedszkolach, ulicach oraz chodnikach jest obecnie niebezpieczne, a kursy autobusowe zostaną jutro wstrzymane.
